Who we are today
Steven Jella, PsyD, is a psychologist and Marriage & Family Therapist, with over 25 years of experience in community mental health, with focuses on clinical and program creations for transitional aged youth, LGBTQ individuals, and those involved with the systems. He has supported persons who survived traumas, homelessness, abuse, self-injury, depression and suicide, exploitation as well as parenting, pregnant, and those seeking health supports. He has witnessed recurring cycles of distress and inequity, fueling his deep commitment to integrating ancestrally (origin) rooted rituals and ceremonies with contemporary therapeutic practices, and challenging conventional approaches that reduce wellness and limited human interaction. Steven is dedicated to fostering holistic well-being by reviving family, community, and earth-based practices that honor our heritages while addressing today’s mental health challenges. In addition, he actively supports fellow healers and practitioners by building collaborative networks that draw inspiration from nature, promote the growing of food and medicine, and honor the wisdom of those who came before.
